Basically, the list of items under the banner of drugs MUST be known to the children, so that they can stay away from it. Sometimes, Paan masalas, alchohols, brown sugar are treated as NOT drugs, but just an addictive material. Social media and mass media should consistently intervene in the society, to find out if drugs are been used in the neighborhood. Most of the times, the local paan wallah allows most of the smokers to smoke around his shop, encouraging smoking, which is not less hazardous. more
Drugs cannot have a foothold unless there is a patronage of Police and Politicians. Punjab is a classical example. Even Ponty Chaddha had a police protection. Can anyone look into this. more

Every college can have a cell consisting of Hostel warden, lecturers, Senior Administrator, and local police nominee. Regular meetings with parents, hostel students, class monitors will go a long way. more
It is heard that near every college areas drugs are available. So need to keep watch in areas around colleges. more
