Milk Price increase after tolls

Now that we have voted milk manufacturers are following Govts lead on tolls and increasing prices by 2 per liter.

This is ridiculous. What all price increases should we prepare for. Also will you increase the taxes also so we should cut our spending short so we can pay taxes and for essentials for the rest of 2024. more

The wasteful amount of money spent on personal and party campaigning could have been used for public welfare instead. In that case action would speak louder than words and campaigning would cost minimum. The fact that people need to spend millions on campaigning goes to show how little was actually done. Before telling me about infrastructure and other things let me point out that the metro work has been going on in my area for ten years now, without any end in sight. more
why we do prefer writing our opposition instead of coming on roads to protest. we should follow the path of agitation through mass representation and not just writing on media. nothing is going to fall from sky if we do not buy the product for a day even. more
Cost of input, labour everything has increased more
Thanks to Dr Neelam Nath for sharing her experience about counseling the poor families on family planning. I wish our politicians of the day could work amongst such poor to better their lives instead of providing freebies to them to improve their (Politicians) political fortune. more
If we need our farmers to prosper, such price increases are inevitable. Instead of coming with surprises, there must be a stable mechanism on price revisions. Such revisions should be made transparent and not a day before the price increase. Milk is seasonal and there is surplus/shrinkage in some months of the year. Storage costs money and that needs to also be factored in prices. Overall, the idea is to not have shocks but a stable price regime. Most milk comes from cooperatives where farmers are the ultimate beneficiaries. I think our people need to shrug off controlled price regimes and come to terms with reality. Controlled prices other than for a short period require someone to chip in, which does no good in the long-run. more
