Misleading by Doctors

So this Dr. Shetty goes on TV (attached) & recommends a cardiac CT angiography for low risk healthy 40+ adults for 3-4 years when the evidence of benefit is just not there.
Test costs 10000+ very expensive as a population screening test with unclear benefit.

Can the Doctors in the circle please share their opinion? more

Recently, a greedy medicine specialist of a reputed Private Hospital in Faridabad recommended heart procedures to my son while he needed none as found by the relative medicine specialist. Should we call such specialists as butcher doctors. more
There should be a complaint cell against miscreant and corrupt doctors in the Ministry of Health and/or Medical Council of India. An eye specialist recommended an eye test on CGHS Bill while only a fundus test was required for cataracts if any. A specialist dentist charged for 3 root canal procedures from the CGHS beneficiary without needing and carrying out a single one as the abbreviation was not understood by the patient. The ENT specialists in recommended Government hospitals recommend the purchase of hearing instruments for CGHS beneficiaries without actual examination by receiving bribes through agents of hearing instrument sellers who make big profits on hearing devices. Online medicine selling companies charge around 20 per cent less on medicines than pharmacists in hospitals and markets. Many of the indented medicines supplied by the CGHS Dispensaries are nearing expiry in the year of supply for they are available to pharmacists at discounted rates from manufacturers fearing loss from expiry. more
The more test u do the more trap u fall in , at 45+ with no test till date when i breathed first i am good w hrs in gyming and yoga every week more
Mr Bhargava- CT angiography is more accurate than thallium test but invasive angiography has advantage of detecting block & clearing away the block in same sitting. more
Thanks to Dr. Neelam Nath for clearing my doubts. more
I agree with everyone that doctors are governed by pharmaceutical companies & insurance companies. Try to see through the game plans & dont get bundles of tests done @ 999/- or lesser I am tired of interpretation of innumerable reports having red marks.. There is No Perfect Human Being & doctors thrive on Imperfections It is More Difficult to say that there is nothing wrong with the person & does not need any medicine ! more
