Modernization of Railway
There are few suggestions to make Railway better--
1. Like airports, the Railway Terminal should be built.
2. There should be number of check in counter to collect luggage and tag with boarding pass to be given to Pax.
3. Hand baggage can go
4. only Passengers should be allowed on platform.
5.Escalators should be installed at Railway station.
6. All luggage and Pax can enter platform after X-Ray and frisking.
7 there should be separate visitors area, only Pax can go to platform.
8. Security CCTV camera to be installed in each coach and should be centrally monitored.
9.luggage compartment should be provided in each train.
10. for unreserved coach only as per the capacity pax to be allowed.
For local passenger train separate entry to be provided to reach the train.
11. In all Trains pentry to be provided, no sale on platforms.
13. platform should be provided A/C.
14. when only hand baggage is in the train cleaning is better.
15. Toilet should be water free, compressed air will shift the shit in to container attached with each Compartment, to be cleared at each station.

17 Platform manager to be provided at each platform to assist pax, baggage loading/unloading. more

All points mentioned are extremely good. But they are far away from the current situation. First we should base strong so that these can be achieve. For example one of the point is "for unreserved coach only as per the capacity pax to be allowed". Now tell me if you have emergency situation and have to catch train in next 30 minutes, won't you travel by general coach. Hence according to me these are good but not achievable in next 10 years atleast. more

First Priority should be given for Safety & Second for cleanliness, Both are missing on all Railway Platforms more

All these points stated above will really change the way business is being done --everything s dull, chaotic, no help for needy, unclean, everywhere t s crowds, we do not know if they are fellow passengers, or people who have come to see off relatives, or goons, thieves leave alone Terrorists. We do not know where they come from, where they destined to go, what are they upto etc., If some thing drastically should happen as in Mumbai Station and only then we will usher in changes--is not a healthy trend. Our Railways should be such that we can boast of. Tickets should be given as & when there is a vacant seat. Otherwise we are treated as herds in even reserved compartments. We need these changes--they are definitely welcome. more

I think all these points will only addressing the luxury items in Railways. There are bigger issues in Railways like reducing the heavy rush in General compartment, improving safety etc. more
