Without bothering about WHO,our Regulators/Chief Ministers must work religiously/honestly to bring down the air/water pollution in all cities/towns to ensure safety of future generations. Corruption and vote bank politics should be shunned once for all. more
AND WHY WE HAVE TO FOLLOW OTHERS CERTIFICATION ? more
WHO is the MONEY making INSTITUTIONS for BIG BUSINESS HOUSE. Eg. Medicine made up AYUR VEDA is not permissible for clinical trials. more
WHO should tighten the Air Quality standards in our country. The Air Pollution levels in many Indian cities are above average. more
Our country should not try to impose WHO guidelines. Our own Air Quality Standards are good. Air Pollution varies with climate and seaon to season. During rainy season rain acts as a scrubber and washes down particulate matter hanging in the air. Every country has its own climatic variations, therefore Standards can not be set for all countries by WHO. There could be an ulterior motive also to prevent India from becoming an Economically Powerful. The fact is that USA has done maximum damage to Environment on its way to becoming world power. President Bush had refused to sign KYOTO Protocol saying that it will affect employment in America. We should try to identify the sources of Air Pollution and try to control them. Some of them are Toll Plaazas across India which should be removed. Other is use of coal or wood for cooking. This is being addressed by providing LPG connections. Too many Traffic Signals in large cities are also a contributing factor for Air Pollution. Their requirement needs to be studied using Scientific Techniques. Roughly Air Pollution contribution comes from: Industry 30% Transport 50% Domestic fuel burning 20% more
