No Bullet Train Please

I don't know who dreamed first about BULLET TRAIN? Is it to show to the world that we are no less than the other countries possessing such trains? What is our priority? To first improve the facilities that one gets in present trains? Do the planners not realize that many of our poor people cannot afford to travel even by Sleeper couches? Do they have ever tried to have a first-hand experience of travelling in over-crowded General Compartments? Do they have any compassion for those people? The idea of Bullet Trains is just one more factor that adds to the India-Bharat divide. It has to be rejected altogether! more

Fully agree with the comments that Railways has a lot to do in terms of fulfilling the basic requirements of safety, comfort, convenience and punctuality for regular travelers before venturing into bullet trains. While we have nothing against introduction of bullet trains, need to know how many more decades are required by the railways to move from current standards to minimum international standards for regular commuters. more
Thanks to have your opinion and though a personal one,I strongly feel the need of Bullet TRains and there can be n reasons to support: 1. Global presence, if we say we need to progress then somebody needs to take bold steps like clean india, bullet trains , FDI's and others. 2. Bullet train would ensure that india is also transforming with the world as change is only the constant thing. 3. Such efforts would decrease the distance/time. 4. Efforts like Bullet trains , highways, waterways are essential part of modertimes. 5. In parallel we continue our basic needs and issues and tackle them with transparency . The time has come where we need to be called Developed , may be more such bold and honest steps and time frame is required , but we have to start from somewhere more
The Bullet Train project, the promise made by our Hon'ble Prime Minister during Lok Sabha Election is going to be fulfilled now yet majority of poor & innocent Rly commuters are nothing to do with this... what they required is Safety, Basic Amenities & convenient happy journey. First our Govt. should concentrate on these.. then only Govt can go for the Bullet Train.. In Mumbai Suburban trains due to over crowding & insufficient height and wide gap of platform and train there has been fatal accidents yet Rly. is mum on this. First make all these correct then go for the Bullet Train which is not affordable to the poor & innocent Indian Railway Commuters right now.. more
We are a country with different attitudes and opinions, certainly it is a welcome sign. But we should not forget that as we are moving forward with the adoption of new technologies for improving our railways , I support Mr. Ramprasad Gargavji, having a bullet train to connect our business hubs is no harm. If we recollect when electrification of our tracks was mooted, people raised similar questions on second class, general coaches issues, same is the case with 3-tier AC coaches, or Garib Rath trains, and we find all the so called people who questioned started using the facility Am not supporting either PM or his party. I support the idea of having sophisticated trains with good amenities and safety for the benefit passengers. In fact if you see in Japan or any developed nation, the public transport systems when provided with the best quality everyone uses it. We can even take the example of Delh Metro , or Kolkata Metro... Therefore please do not discourage Railways on this issue more
Dear joshiji, The project of ''bullet train'' is only the whims of our Hon'ble P.M. It's nothing more than that. We people are only deaf & dumb watching it silently, as a audience. Please bear this. more
