ON the “POLLUTER PAYS RULE “ IN 36 STATIONS - RAILWAYS DESERVES A BIG HAND :

TAKING UP SWACHHA INITIATIVE TO ITS DOMAINS.

It is not as if they have jumped into the Danda stage of the 4 Upayas , Sama, Dhan, Bedha and Danda . Only after exhausting the first 3 through announcements , Pamphlets , skits and proving sufficient Bins in stations . Now penalties the last one .
Past 3 years the circle members interested in Clean India and Litter free environment have been advocating for this ; Probably they knew the mentality of fellow citizens who keep their premises clean and throw the trash on the road.

*Target is to achieve ISO 14001 Parameters.
* There will be surveillance and CC TV Network to identify polluters .
* Nodal officers to device action plan to with verifiable indicators within one month to achieve the Target .

IT IS A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR THE OTHER AUTHORITIES TO FOLLOW AND CLEAN OUR SURROUNDINGS ALL OVER INDIA

If only railways had adopted this approach 2 years back we would have been handed with a clean railways and surroundings .
any way let us hope some thing happens in railways first and the other authorities in the state follow suite . more

Yes, banning manufacturing is the primary step that needs to be taken. 9 years back, in Delhi, the government took the plea of jobs, against the ban. With a result plastic has proliferated in the national capital, with the expediency of political vote banks being made against the future of the city. Now, it must be done as there are alternatives such as supari patta (betel leaf) that may be used as alternative to the crockery and cutlery made from styrofoam and plastic. Alternatives, such as earthen disposable or glass reusable tumblers have always been there. It is awareness of citizens that has eclipsed these environmentally friendly and capital saving utility alternatives. Good that change is finally happening with railways spearheading the change. more
First of all 'why the plastic manufacturing companies are not penalized?' It is writing 'smoking is injurious to health'. In India educated only flout the rules. Take action on the manufacturing companies for producing these plastic bags. It is a simple solution, but Govt is BLIND. more
Ban of plastic is in so many state. But still people are using it without any fear even shopkeepers are selling their goods in plastic without caring the environment and government notification this shows how much respect and fear we have for our law and order! Until and unless strict legal action and huge penalty system with immediate effect is not implemented nothing will happen all the declaration by government will be on paper or in news. All state government must appoint vigilance inspector in general market and in commercial areas and start penalizing immediate if any shopkeeper or anyone from public found using plastic in any form, also central government must ban the packing of all food and FMCG items in plastic a best alternative must be find with immediate effect. participation of all the FMCG companies and initiative is also required without thinking for any profit and loss then only we can protect our planet. more
Why you want to penalize the citizens, when you allow its manufacture? India is one of the worst countries in "law abiding" as well as 'law enforcement'. more
Imposition of fine will force people to refrain from such activity. more
The 36 are just 5% of the total 7,000 and odd stations in Indian Railways .There is no need that each and every station should bring a Ban Plastic Rule, but this should instill a fear in the public and necessity to save the Environment as well. more
