Online Fraud by big sites

So my cousin says make my trip is running a scam. They sold him business class tickets for a flight which does not have business class itself. It's impossible to reach their customer care. He has been trying to get in touch with them but no response at all. They have to refund INR 1.65L to him.

If sites like make my trip which are amongst oldest site apps to book travel do such fraud there is little trust people would have in up and coming startups in travel and other online sectors.

Can everyone please share their bad experiences with any site or app and then if there are many such cases perhaps we request LC manager to take this up with Govt to fix it. more

Accept one point. All the airlines, Railways, Hotels have their own websites for booking tickets/ rooms. As Mr. Yezdi Sabawala has written that these sites should be used for comparative details. Booking through these sites is always risky. Who knows the site is fake or real. Getting a refund from these enterprises is always difficult. Even filing a complaint with Consumer Court is also difficult. Most of such enterprises do not display their office addresses. People fall in their trap because they offer heavy discounts and in between they play fraud with customers / travellers. more
It is suggested use such sites to get only comparative details about flight timings, pricing etc. Then select the Airline and do direct booking including seat booking etc. there is hardly any difference in pricing or no difference in the pricing between such sites and airlines. In case of refund, it is much easier. more
File complaint with consumer forum quickly to seek full refund with interest and compensation for harassment. more
We have booked our tickets from airline website and we are facing problems for re-scheduling our dates of journey. more
Also go to consumer grievances court more
