When it says 2nd wave will be due to variant strains. New genome sequencing data from Punjab showing 81% cases of UK-variant. This variant is far more infectious. Punjab already has the highest case fatality rate in the country (>2X India!) Chandigarh is also same. chances are Maharashtra too.

There is no second option. Every one need to follow the covid preventive measures. It is painful to see still many are not observing . Here comes the role of local administration & NGO to do the needful. more

Whichever variant of Covid virus it may be, the main precautions are well known - proper wearing of mask over nose & mouth, social distancing, hand washing, avoiding crowded places, avoiding confined spaces, etc. The 2nd/3rd/4th waves of infection is mainly due to a thinking that nothing will happen to me. more
