Overbooking and booting by airlines

I am glad LC manager is persistently pushing the issue of high air fares for resolution and even taking up penalties for flight rescheduling.

One more issue I have observed is that of overbooking by airline hoping that they will boot off some people by telling them they are late for check in.

Once recently I observed that an airline instead of offering money to some passengers who agree to take next flight they closed the check in early so genuine passengers are forcefully booted off and giving them the option of taking the next flights

This must be classified as unfair trade practice and the airlines should be taken to consumer court.

Everyone please weigh in on the issue. more

๐Ÿ‘Yesss! You have raised very pertinent points- and this is a real issue. By outsourcing most of their work the airlines just wash their hands off. Complaints must be made to the regulatory bodies. They do exist. Airlines must be brought to book. Hapless passengers MUST complain to the duty manager, airport manager, airline supervisor and the civil aviation ministry ombudsman. Redressal will be given. more
This again and their policies brings out the need for a Controlling Body which governs the Airlines' performance including pricing. more
Looting unnecessary -for money is wrong . currently Prayagraj UP to Mumbai Ticket booked on 11 May 2023 of Rs 12324/- for two tickets student catagory. travelling date 21 June 2023 high price compare to travel chennai /delhi/ Bangalore etc... more
We are the mercy of the airlines as there is no government regulations to moniter the tariff mechanism. So airlines go scot free. Of course, they cannot be squarely blamed for our late arrival to catch the flight as they come across thousands of passengers day in and day out with few passengers coming with various excuses for their lapses, may be, one or two genuine cases. For that matter, all public transport service provider are in the same boat. more
I will support a govt. that listens to our grievances. Watch. more
