Pesky calls - Lots of robo calls

I see the LocalCircles report saying that pesky calls have reduced for some people but robo calls have increased.

https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/trai-spam-call-survey

This is 100% true for me 6 months back I was getting 80% human pesky and 20% robo. Now it is 50-50.

I find sarkari agencies are clueless. For all u know some of those same managers generating sales leads through home based workers are now using a machine.

TRAIs so called dream progress may come crashing down. more

I just answer the call and mute it. That way the call runs for a minute or two and prevents the caller from calling another number, so the total number of calls reduce from the spammer. Sometimes, the caller is not allowed to disconnect until the timeout happens, which is also beneficial to the public. The DND system is useless and is only a slap on the wrist in rare cases. I also think the telco companies encourage tele calling to generate revenue. After the call ends, I block the number and report it to DND too. more
I see calls are reduced / close to NIL but got some international spam calls more
I can't differentiate between pesky calls and Robo calls. But unwanted calls are a big nuisance. more
All these calls are made on some Telephone Operator's network. Suppose TRAI can send the Operator's identification on our mobile phones, who is allowing this traffic. In such a case, we can nail down the operator and their subscriber verification process, on which police / legal action can be initiated. more
Agree pesky calls are such a nuisance that at times genuine calls also do not get answered. Govt should block all telecom lines of organisations making unwanted calls, based on our complaints. more
