Plight of health Insurance claimants

I must complement localcircles management and members for being the most effective media in the country to quantify public plight on various issues and bringing it out.

The attached story (link below) I saw in Indian Express today as Dad still gets it at home (He stopped getting biz papers all together)

https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/general-insurance-survey

43% had trouble getting health insurance claim means 1 in 2 had a problem and if the regulator wants to see it first hand they should go to any hospital lobby between 12 and 8. They will find family members of patients waiting for their insurance claims. This was worse during Covid time.

The Govt should fix this on priority. 1-2 hours is what it should take to get claims processed. more

This is very good LC Manager more
I prefer treatment in good govt hospitals and pay from my pocket as am not entitled to any medical treatment reimbursement out of tax payers money as I have worked in private sector for 36 years. more
Don't look for health insurance companies and pay heavy annual premium as annual punishment because of lots of middlemen or agents and others taking a huge bribe/cut to release your own hard earned money ,when it's needed and family members are made to go from one place to another looking for sweet talking insurance agent who has disappeared. Save money for rainy days and pay for hospital bills directly incase you have to get admitted . Money grows through lots of banking schemes, shares or mutual funds etc etc Annual premium is waste of money as it's draining you of your resources and doctors too take advantage of insured people by asking lots of investigations and procedures Remember that simple injection or intravenous drip is painful! You can imagine how much painful procedures can be! Aankho Dekhi more
I have since cancelled/stopped
all medi insu policies. more
In order to make good profit, some indurance companies simply create one or other irrelevant issues and drag the settlement, thus delaying means denial settlements. This is one practice as thump rule of insurance companies. Other aspect is hospitals, when, they learn many cases are cashless, hodpitals in association with insurance panel doctors play their games by prescribing meficines which are outside claims thus, rejection of settlement. In my case i had to make seversl visits to TPI for settlement with agent. It took more fays for settlement. Unless concerned ministry draws stringent norms, poor policy holders have to bear the burnt. Unless relative officials are corruption free poor policy holder to suffer. more
It is hard to go through all the minute details and legalese. Check with 2 or 3 companies and then buy.Don’t go for tge Cheapest because that is what you will get. more
