Power Outage very much a reality

Not sure what the Government is claiming but I travelled last 2 - 3 months and what the LocalCircles survey claims about power outage is very much real.

Only 9% have power back up and they are either rich in an independent house or living in society which is upper middle or upper class in big cities.

Rest of the desh light goes multiple times. Only exception may be if you are in capital cities near to Government works. more

Free/Reduced Rate Power supply is the Bone of Contention. Our Selfish Politicians are befooling Voters and are luring them. Ultimately we have to pay the price, why Grumble? more
The best thing India can do for power supply is establish private/government partnership with a board that has oversight. That private sector part could be made up of people who are knowledgable in that area just like many large international corporations do. I keep stating this fact that anything government run does not have interest of the citizens unless it is limited, like protecting the country and basic infrastructure. Rest should be left to private sector. Socialist model does NOT work and never will. more
Stop free power supply and pilferage and invest heavily on power generation and distribution. This will reduce and cost and ensure power supply 24x7 throughout the year. more
govt giving free power etc is only vote bank and people when it is free do not know the value of it and do not use it discreetly and leave the switches on without bothering when it is free. Also during summer the demand goes up and normally to give power to cities at the expense of the tier 1 and 2 cities more
Power and water wastage is maximum in govt. Institutions as nobody is accountable. more
