presence of paramedic or doctor on trains
I would like to suggest to the ministry of railways to make a paramedic or doctor available on long distance trains or trains running above 150 kms,
There are instances of people going in an emergency medical situations like heart attacks, seizures. cardiac arrests, blood pressure, fits, unconciousness, diziness, pregnant women feeling pain or any other situation where the presence of a paramedic or doctor can save a life on a running train. at present there are no such facilities on board running trains, there is no doctor or paramedic. the passengers are at the mercy of god and the ticket checker to avail of some medical help when the train arrives at a station. the time lost in waiting for help can result in a death of a passenger.
i would suggest the railways to post a paramedic or doctor on board to handle emergencies. a small cubicle near the guard cabin can be allotted along with a berth to attend the patient, the cubicle can be equipped with life saving equipment like an oxygen cylinder, blood pressure monitor and an ecg monitor.
it would indeed help many people in times of medical distress on board running trains. more

Good proposal. But railway shall need over 20000 doctors to cater all moving long route trains. Yearly expenditures in a tune of 3000 cr shall be needed. Whether passengers are willing to bear the expenses?. more

I fully agree and this should be implemented at the earliest .Our railway minister is doing a fantastic job and we hope this will also be implemented at the earliest more
