Railways bid to cancel travel concessions to Senior Citizens

It is strange to observe the eccentric behaviour of Railway Administration in planning to withdraw the concessions to senior citizens. While booking the ticket online, a pop up appears to confuse the senior. Pop up drops down
Saying 'avail concession' forego 50% concession' 'forego all concession'
Why this now?
Already interest rate for FDs are coming down and no special concession to tax paying senior citizen.
Is this the governance for seniors?
We are increasingly fed up and losing interest in this government.

15-08-2017 Bangalore Reg: Railway's bid to cancel benefits to senior citizens. Constraints or problems similar to the above do crop up due to faulty or defective fare structure. Railways should make clear and transparent pricing policy of passenger fares so that public can contribute well to eliminate loopholes. Let Railways disseminate their fair structure policy so that fare structure can be modified and subsidy or benefits can be totally eliminated. Every Indian is a pillar of our country and everyone should bear train fare proportionately based on the following parameters:- Distance travelled - Group 1 Distance slabs Time of travel - Group I A/c or non a/c ----- Type of service - mail, express, passenger, etc. - Group 2 Railway overheads - Group 2 ----------- Type of rail coach used - sleeper coach or general unreserved coach Group 3.
