Railways needs a rethink on dynamic pricing
I think the dynamic pricing policy of the Railways is being misunderstood. My understanding is that the Railways have come out with a scheme to look at the vacant berths in all important trains after the chart is prepared ( i believe it is done 4 hrs prior to departure of the train) and throw open the balance seats at a dynamic pricing framework like Tatkal which can be bought by those in urgent need of travel. This new thinking is to be encouraged & not discouraged in the best interest of our National Railways. This procedure will take away the discretionary powers of TT & also curb corruption.The higher fare will go the exchequer & it is an important and right step by Railways. What need to be done is the Commercial Department should bring out a supplementary reservation chart of such berths/ seats allotted before the respective Train departure
