Railways Recycling and environmental friendly :

When I saw the scene that you see in the attachment , I was so happy that I was confused which circle to send. Make railways better or to Swachh Bharath or to M.R.P. enforcement . As railways had taken the initiative to extend the facility to the rail passengers I am posting it here.

It is not just availability of clean drinking water for the thirsty at a very nominal cost 1/2 liter on wards. Katpadi is the second station I am seeing in Southern railways besides Madurai [it has different coloured Garbage Bins also ]

Dear Minister sir, More than making clean drinking water available what will impress the environmentalists and the common man most will be ,

* railways has encouraged recycling of plastic bottles by filling just water .

* they dispense from 1/2 liter on wards , so there is no need to throw the left over water .

* less plastic bottles to be seen strewn around the tracks .

* Watch the price one third the price of rail water which is Rs. 15 /

* No hassle on haggling with M.R.P. notification and adhering to it.

* When I took the permission of the staff at the counter to photograph him , he voluntarily and very happily said lots of people are using the facility .

* As the most popular Hospital C.M.C. Hospital is situated in this town patients come from far and wide . So for their entire journey of 24 / 48 hours they take water as much as 10 to 20 liters for families.

WHY NOT PUT UP SUCH PRICE LISTS for FOOD SERVED IN TH TRAINS ALSO to PREVENT THE TRADERS FLEECING THE PASSENGERS. Jai Hind. more

I second it. On Jun 16, 2017 2:00 PM, "Jayakumar Daniel" wrote: > more
I too have seen such water plants in some railway stations. Those who are going for branded bottles are going for that . But the people who hesitate to spend twenty rupees for one litter water are gifted with these plants . they are getting better water at reasonable rate. it is really good initiative by railways and those sellers. I thank them on behalf of the poor travelers for better water for reasonable rate. The observation of Mr Bipin desai is understandable and what he has observed might happen. May be that is one of the reasons, that the above water plants are very less in comparison to water selling stalls on platforms. at some places only one plant in the station Any way it is good initiative and deserves appreciation. more
Well I appreciate the views of Mr.Jayakumar Daniel . With such machines gradually installed in all Railway stations , and public support to whole heartedly utilise such services , we can certainly hope for the best to happen sooner or later. There is NO POINT in grudging about the past happenings as evinced by Mr. Bipin Desai and we all citizens should strive to put pressure on the administration for the good , passenger friendly actions to be taken. So it is my earnest request to all our fellow circle members to keep posting such messages . Jai Hind . Bharat Mata Ki Jai . more
Dear Jayakumar...your observations are indeed right. Can you email me in ninepconsultants@rediffmail.com. There are many things that may be common to us which we can discuss at length. more
Mr.Denial. Thank you for bringing this to the surface of my he mind of Hon'ble Minister for Railways. They must encourage such stalls on each platform at important stations. If it is not possible on all platforms, they should alternatively provide mobile stalls. The regular stallwallahs are charging more money. This should get a priority over riding all other priorities. P.Radha Krishna murthy. more
Sir these machines were installed on the western railway stations almost 10 years back and removed due to the pressure from the stall owners who sell the branded and non branded filtered water at a premium. You may see this happening at the above mentioned stations too in a few months. The vendors are forced to sell a particular brand of water, who grease the catering dept's palms. more
Is it so? Atrocious. Let us pray that it happen other way round now. May all stations start having such machines. more
