Rajya sabha is redundant

It is time we raise our voice to scrap Rajya Sabha and legislative councils. Many states do not have legislative councils and the perform equally well or even better. Corruption is galore to become members of rajya sabha and the legislative councils. They are white elephants eating away the tax payers money . The money can be utilised for crucial developments and providing social security to the needy. more

In my opinion, the proved selfish Indian politics Certainly need membership from various Social and national interest oriented Scholars from all the Fields and Subjects Starting from Artist , Actor to Doctor , Judge and Colonel TO LOCK UNDEMOCRATIC AND THOSE CREATE ANTI FRATERNITY AND EVEN ANTI NATIONAL. The Rajyasabha and Legislative Councils are to be made so Regulated in the whole Union please . more
Rajya Sabha is really reduntant and a unnecessary burden on public. It must be scrapped now and its high time we follow our own system on governance rather than borrrowed one based on english legacy. more
IN MY OPINION THERE IS NO NEED OF RAJYA SABHA IN THE PRESENT STATE OF AFFAIRS. more
Idea of Rajya Sabha was to create a group of wise, knowledgeable & wise men who are successful in their own field of work. Their are to have a second look at legislation with their experienced eyes something similar to the role of Independent directors in a company. However, this idea have been totally compromised. Individuals with proven political alleniation, personal business interest & no credible record of past performance now get into this body. Advanced countries where this idea of having a separate body for legislation was muted have changed laws since to cope up with changing times. In the current scenario, it is imperative to change laws so that this body can send back a legislation to Lok sabha for review once - something similar to the power of the President of Lok sabha recommendation. If Lok sabha, directly elected body, sticks to its stand after review, it should be imperative for Rajya Sabha to pass the legislation. more
