Real Time Seat Availability - Inputs Sought
Before Railway Budget this year, one of the circle inputs was to implement technology that will enable real time seat availability to passengers/ticket seekers. The idea you had given would help in minimizing TTE discretion, reducing corruption and making seats available that are not occupied. One suggestion was use of handheld device/mobile app by TTEs for empty seats.

This availability should not be limited to just what is available in GNWL and PQWL. If one knows what seats are available for what segments of the journey, that would be help the passengers. I do not know if railways is managing this piece of information very well. You can think of an electronic display inside the coach indicating seat occupancy. This is not just a simple list whether a seat is taken up or not, but also should indicate the precise travel segment over which it is occupied or vacant. more

in my experience so many people entering without reservation in reserved seats and mostly they are employee..so pls cheak and update avaliablity of seats and unreserved people(any one) should pay penalty on the spot.. more
