Refund of Cancelled online Ticket

IRCTC is taking 7-8 days for refund of Online cancelled ticket.Though, processing of transaction done in 2-3 days but
funds only credited in 7-8 days to applicant bank a/c despite digital work.It is unjustified and not fair rather customers'unfriendly.I cancelled PNR 2246400199 on 30/6 but refund yet to receiv. It should be checked and to be credited well within the norms of Bank. more

Refund should only take 10% more time than what it took to deduct. After all who pays the interest on locked in period. Vijoy Ambasta more
The refund should be immediate or at best two to three days. Railway needs to improve in this digital world. more
The refund should be made within two days more
This is another way of making undeclared means of making extra money by IRCTC. They should return such money within 72 hours. more
The idea behind digital is to increase the speed of processing be it for debit or credit. If debit is instantaneous how come credit is after 7 days. There can be only two reasons - one there is no trust in the digital system or secondly as a policy matter they want to enjoy credit. I understand that credit via credit cards take some time for credit to the bank as the merchant in this case railways presents the charge through the interchange and there is a two three days interval in which there can be a charge back. The risk is there but then the risk is also when you book the ticket. There is two stage authorisation while booking the ticket to avoid fraud. Similarity a two stage process of authentication can be instituted for cancellation also so that any chances of fraud is avoided. In any case the ticket is cancelled so there is no exposure to the Railways. more
