Request for cancellation of GST registration pending since November 2020

I had submitted request for cancellation of registration on 11th November 20 using GST portal. The local officer sent me a notice suggesting change in the date of cancellation. I filed clarification through GST portal requesting the date of cancellation ( 31st October 2020) as suggested by the officer.
However the local officer in GST office says that he is unable to take any action as he cannot see clarification filed by me whereas I can see on GST portal the action status against the clarification shows matter pending with the concerned officer.
As a result my request for cancellation is still pending. Now I am unable to file NIL returns though I get reminders to do the same. When contacted the help desk I was told that the matter is pending with the concerned officer and he has to take action.

Please suggest possible remedy on the above. Thanks more

I suggest if you could share the GST portal screenshot so that I can help you close it Plese do not meet anyone in person, the work will be done online as i have done all my registrations and other activities of changes without meeting anyone. We only have to understand what needs to done as clarifications. Share your ARN details more
