Reservation period

Giving four months time for reservation is only in the interest of railway to earn hefty money from the tax paying citizens in terms of cancellation charges. Purely business minded and no public service at all. Traveling by train is not like a five year plan or so. very few People can plan their journey four months ahead, that also in doubt. In my opinion it should be made less than one month in that way at least people will not run every day for reservation for four months till the reservation is done if not general but tatkal. Will the Railway Ministry look into the matter or keep sucking the money in the form cancellation charges? Ministers and Top class Babus may not require to book there tickets four months ahead of their tour so they need not bother for this but the aam junta is suffering. Please do the needful. more

I whole heartedly condemn this. This is a clever tricks of Railway to collect money from the tax payers like us. How long this type of looting will continue ? I think Railways should stop issuing wail-list tickets for all trains from immediate effect. Hope Our PM will consider our request this time. more
I fully agree with Malay Kumar Rana that Indian Railway has become a commercial organisation. We are a group of senior citizens. We travel twice in a year as group tourist. After this 120 days reservation policy we are penalised heavily for cancellation of tickets due to ageing problems etc.Hence reservation period should be reduced to 60 days as was earlier. more
The dynamic fares on certain trains are not correct. As it is Tatkal fares are much higher than regular fares. I was observing that even long before the journey dates there were very high dynamic fares on Duronto Express even Rs.. 1500+. THis is cheating the public as when there are berths available why should there be dynamic pricing? more
It should be challenged in court. Rampant misuse of monopoly. Public cannot be treated as beggars. more
with 120 days the cancellation charges income has increased. This decision is only favourable to Railways. it should be made some kind of win for passengers too. more
