Safety Cess Coming
Per news, The Ministry of Indian Railways has signalled to make the journey more expensive for the common man. This time, Indian Railways is planning to charge safety cess on tickets from passengers in order to boost the revenue.
Indian Railways is already charging the service charge, Swacch Bharat Cess and Krishi Kalyan Tax from the passengers. Do you really need to charge this additional amount and move people away from railways.
As if flexi fares have not done enough damage already sir. Like to hear from the ministry whats the plan. For record there is not much improvement in services of Railways not cleanliness more

What can we expect from an autocratic/dictatorship government? In the last three years, then have only introduced various new cess/levies/taxes and added additional percentages on the existing ones. When have we got in return? These tactics of taxing government is only to boost their personal economy. Till now they have done nothing for the development of the country. Take for example, our own supposed to be cash-rich BMC, have they not been increasing various taxes and introducing new ones thus subjugating the common man. What is the current status of improvement? In fact, in several ways, I have been mooting the subject of scrapping the BMC (Bombay/Mumbai's Most Corrupt) and entrust all the activities to private parties for better accountability. Besides, there need not be any Corporator election etc etc and their arrogancy (by not serving the people for which they are elected). more

Almost 10 years back , I am not sure about the dates, the then railway minister has added a flat Re. 1 to Re. 5 per ticket based on the distance and class of travel , towards expenses for safety issue. What has happened to all the amount collected. and that has been forgotten by almost all of us and again they are extracting money from us in different name. And finally nothing is going to happen even 10 years later. Anyone who remember the above fact pls reply. more

Indians World class facilities in Railways but want to pay with JANTA CLASS fares. Ppl are well aware minister after minister has been reluctant to raise Railway passenger fares for a decade or so, whereas input costs been increasing over the years and also salaries of employees. Which commodity remained static in prices it's only railway passenger fares. Then from where we aspect railways to provide us fool proof safety. Just view in other countries fares, like Europe, comparing with them we vertically travel free..... more
