School Fees and its effects on an earning class...

I am a middle class income earning parent and see lot of variations in the way the school atmosphere has changed from the time I have been in school to that my kid going to the school

1. When I was a kid there were enough government schools and lesser convents.
2. Government schools Vs Convents used to be a healthy competitive environment.
3. Students passing out from Government schools used to excel with their subjects, that used to be a challenge to the folks from convents.
4. Most convents were concentrated in cities/towns.
5. English was not given much priority (compared to Govt Vs Convent), local languages were given priority.
6. Every parent had an option to either spend on their child for a convent or send them to government schools.
7. Money was not that a priority.

Today,

1. Convents have moved to smaller towns.
2. English has taken over local languages.
3. Convents have taken over all the government schools.
4. Politicians have taken over all the education institutions. Its like a syndicate or mafia.
5. Government schools have been systematically degraded, so that people opt for convents.
6. Each year 10% increase of school fees irrespective of the salary increase or not.
7. Governments might want to change the rule but the resolve is nullified because their own party people, ministers etc run the institutions so the reforms never happen.
8. Competitive edge of government institutions made blunt.
9. Due to exorbitant school fees the middle class is under immense pressure and subject to earnings by hook or crook. This does lead to corruption, increase of prices directly/indirectly. more

Ours is a country where Education & Health have been made into high profit making institutions. In developed countries the Education and health is either free of cost to their bonafide citizens or nominally charged. But in our country it is Education and Health is a the biggest crime for which we have to pay dearly from our hard earned money. more
Our Country even before Invasion and Takeover was provided with Free Education and Free Healthcare. Medicines also were supplied Free by some . The Kings/Emperors used to Fund those giving Free Education [ Called as Gurukulam ] .
BUT, THE INDEPENDENT RULE under political democracy grossly neglected Education and also Healthcare since after 90s though specifically mandated in article 45 and 46 directly and, 15 [4] and 41 indirectly . Healthcare under article 47 as well as Livelihood Earning Facility through cooperative Farming under Agriculture Article 48 .
THUS THE COMMON AND POOR legally called as general public are thus under crush striving for Food and Starving for Education . Governments did not even care the Suggestions and Directions of Supreme Court . more
The education system has changed in general, but the rules governing the administration, fees and other material has not changed through government guidelines. more
A Regulatory Body for school fees is the need of the hour. There has to be some relationship/linkage between RTE Act and the school fees. more
Now only those of very poor families send there children to Govt. Schools. People hardly know where the Govt. Schools are. Hindi is disappearing form India Childern cannot count 1to100 in Hindi more
PEACE AND LOVE. We the elders have to inculcate a habit to love and enjoy studies in children. more
