Secure your Aadhaar Biometrics - steps

I think saving grace is our biometric has not been stolen. Everyone must lock their biometrics with info below.

Visit: https://resident.uidai.gov.in/biometric-lock. Here you will have to enter your Aadhaar number along with your security code. This code will is generated using a one-time password (OTP), which is sent to your registered mobile number. Use this OTP to login and enter another security key to lock the biometrics.

After you lock your biometrics, you will not be able to complete any biometric-based authentication but it secures your biometric information from potential misuse.

For authentication when needed, you can unlock your biometrics through the same process that is described above.

The unlock option results in temporarily unlocking the biometrics, which leaves it usable for a period of 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, it will automatically get locked again. more

UIDAI is fooling, they have already sold our data to USA research centers. All countries have to sell it under their agreements. Only our government is fooling us as always. more
Best of the system cannot stopped being hacked. Banks have been giving away information obtained through KYC all along to other service providers. Our WhatsApp, Facebook etc. Contains all information which is easily accessible. Hence targeting Aadhar sponsored by government is foolishness. Yet security is serious matter and efforts should be made to upgrade it on continuing basis more
Locking seems to be risky, unless concerned helpline capable of really helping. more
Custodian of information is fully responsible for protecting the biometrics. Access should be authorised after multiple layer authentication. more
