One more goodwill gesture that can be planned by Modi govt is... The affluent and well to do service persons of every stream as also all the well to do families of business and other professions having older/senior citizen members of their family (blood relations) should be allowed to deposit any amount excess of their individual tax free savings already fulfilled. "THIS EXCESS AMOUNT CAN BE DEPOSITED ON THE NAMES OF THEIR BLOOD RELATION SENIOR CITIZEN MEMBERS" Which will not attract any income /other tax on it. The "INTEREST"on this amount deposited on blood relation of the working individual, can be withdrawn /transferred to the account of the senior citizen automatically. The amount of deposit on the name of senior citizen however can not be EVER withdrawn by the senior citizen (as this amount is the genuine earning of the working individual). This simple declaration would benefit entire society and govt follwing ways... All the senior citizen will be proud of their children who ,then , definitely will be looked after by their own children. Every working individual can then have the satisfaction of "Tax Free" income on this excess saved amount. Also he will individually be feeling satisfied of looking after their parents at their needy time. Govt in turn gets benefitted.... By reducing the overall burden of continuing the dept of senior citizen welfare schemes implementation. By getting Huge amounts of deposits into already dwindling banking system, thus improving total funds position of banks. Unnecessary welfare dept manpower can be utilized in another productive work. Overall Human society of the country can experience more cordial relations and less disputes among each other. This is the step suggested as New Thought to improve social chord of nation which is on declining verge. Comments/modifications to base idea are welcome. Arun Bandi 8554842433 more

law is fine, but we need social transformation on why senior citizens are relegated to the backroom or sidelines or dumpyard .... is it their own making due to the hangups they carry with them, not trying to live in the real world, believe everyone should respect them for their age and nothing else, or their children should repay them for what all they claim to have done which anyway would have happened may be better without them .... and now riding on the senior citizen tag to gain sympathy or acceptance .... at the same time they should be given their space and place not out of sympathy but for what the value they can bring to the table in this fast changing world, where there is no mechanism to transfer accumulated knowledge, experience, wisdom to younger generations. largely the issue of lack of initiative, and seniors waiting for the sympathy and respect because they adorn grey hair or bald head On Wed, 11 Dec 2019 at 22:56, Harsimran Kaur wrote: > more
We are culturally inclined to take care of our parents. Of late with families of one or two children many times the son in law also takes up this responsibility. However if made into law, I doubt how many additional sons or sons in law will come forward. "Taking care" being an attitude, is difficult to define and hence it is difficult to prove the "non taking care" of a person by his son or son in law. more
