Shortage of Policemen

Is a joke some senior police play on us. Half of our police is busy doing VIP duty.

Last night near Amritsar, the police and local administration failed people. The police was supposed to barricade tracks, ensure site was safe for effigy burning but they were busy doing Navjot Singh Sidhus VIP duty.

Can we please do something in this circle and get rules changed so less policemen are deployed with so called VIPs.

You wont believe its so pathetic, even a rich businessman when he travels by road can get a policemen to travel with him with influence.

We as people just let all this to happen because we are scared of these guys who we are paying to protect and secure us. more

Proverbially, India has high unemployment. If there is shortage of policemen why not make recruitment? Otherwise it is an excuse. We have shortage of magistrates, judges, etc, then fill up the posts or make the existing staff work. If we enter any govt office we find them lousing around with piles of files & papers on their table. more

While your point is very pertinent, I also think that people themselves should be more responsible. You cannot sit on Railway Tracks for your pleasure (even if it is for an Hour). Crazy things are being done on Railway property like taking selfies. So let us also create awareness of self- discipline more
