Should AYUSH Doctors be authorised to perform surgeries?

Thanks to all who participated in this survey. Below is the final report. While it is understandable that AYUSH Doctors are manning ICUs and providing services on ground, majority still believes that the Mixopathy where AYUSH Doctors are using allopathic anesthesia and antibiotics can be quite risky for the patients.

Should AYUSH Doctors be allowed to perform surgeries?

If the Government is keen to permit AYUSH Doctors to perform these 50+ surgeries, it must be mandatory for them to consult allopathic Doctors (in person or digital) before administering allopathic medicines.

We look forward to your inputs! more

The Ayush Doctor had studied their Courses and after getting the Degree why people had a Doubt on this whether they should be allowed for Operations and so.. It Indicates that People wont have Faith in their Education. Moreover in Olden days the so called Vaidya had full control and Accuracy on Diagnosis by Nadi Pariksha. They are giving Perfect Medicines used on Herbs. They had been quite Renouned in Diagnosis and Medicines. Only they are not allowing certain variety of Food to eat as a Paththa. So in my opinion they must be allowed for Operations. more
Sir with due respect to your view, operation( surgery) and medication ( medicine) are two different aspects of profession even a specialist in medicine legally and ethically not allowed to do surgery so how come a AYUSH ? Performing an operation can be easy but handling and anticipating complications are specialists domain. Even quacks and compounder do operations in remote areas with success that doesn't mean authorites should made it legal. The important point is when one has been trained in alternative medicine with the aim of keepin those branches surviving and progressing why they should leave that and do things for which they have not meant. more
Exactly Correct. Facts of Indian Expertise in Several Subjects had been set aside JUST FOR DUMPING EVERYTHING INTO INDIA .
This was the intrigue programmed by British Govt in 1835 itself through Lord Macaulay more
If the Govt is keen, let there be tests on each and every Ayush drugs before they are used, let there be clinical trials. Let the Ayush doctors use Ayush methods and Ayush medicines only - not allopathic - on which they are not trained. more
There is nothing wrong in allowing AYUSH doctors to perform surgeries, but like other MBBS students, AYUSH students should be properly exposed and trained in surgery. Practice makes a man perfect. more
Depends on their Skill, There should be a Test based on certain norms of Surgery, those able to pass alloted a Reg.No. more
Like GCIM Registered Medical Practioners, be allowed for general Operations. more
The Ayush Doctors Should allow to Perform surgeries , Provided they have real Registration with AYUSH Dept. having valid license & Medical Degree. Otherwise in Villages there are fake Doctors with BA , B.COM Degree Practicing as a Doctors in Northern States .I have Some Photographs of Doctors Dispensaries Name having B.A. B.COm degree. Before allowing them Surgeries the Necessary Training of min. 2 years make compulsory in Hospitals with independent handling . No Relief, No Money BOND. The Permission only Granted to those doctors who has completed the training of 2 years without any GAP. If they want to take GAP , let them take but the Previous training Period should not be considered at all while taking new training. the Training is only in CONTINOUS Mode. The Regular Surprise Inspection Visits are to be made to their dispensaries to secure at least min. standards of Surgery Equipment's are following. Only Doctors with Competent Degree , Knowledge & Skills are to be allowed after taking Practical exam on Dummy after completion of their 2 years continuous training. more
