Should Profiteetring by hotels be addressed

Husband is in bangalore and has some foreign clients staying in a particular hotel. Since my husbands company is the local partner, it is preferred that atleast he stays there so foreign guests can be attended to. Just look at how the hotels have raised per night prices of theirs. A hotel which goes for 20000 per night is going for 44,000 per night.

Can this excessive profiteering be prohibited or atleast regulated in some way ?? more

If you can pay such money, they will milk you. Government cannot get into regulating 5 star hotel pricing. This is Capitalism at its best. This is a coffee table discussion and not the concern of the middle class. Many people in India dont even earn Rs 20K a month, which you are blowing up in half a day to further your business. Your business should be tuned to recover these costs. Government will be more than happy to collect their share of GST and other taxes from people like you. more  
As far is GST is concerned, hotel has to pay GST on 40,000/- i.e. on actual amount charged to customer, if hotel is paying GST on 20,000/- only then only local GST Department can take action. more  
Do silly people like you, Sneha Goyal has any idea how economy works?? If your husband is spending on hotels for business, he needs to negotiate with his work about this not with government. more  
Sneha Goyal You do not have understanding of free market system. When those foreign clients stay in the high end hotels they bring a lot of currency to India and that is a good thing. You need to study the recent history of India. In the 1990s when the government was socialist we put these kind of harmful ideas in the governing and at that stage we as a country ran out of foreign currency. When Indian government went to ask for loan from IMF, they put a condition that we as the country needed to open up market so we have money. You need to stop putting forward these silly topics. more  
Client should first negotiate the room charges including food. If not acceptable, he should move to another hotel. Also check if it is a room or suite. more
