SIXTY DAYS ADVANCE BOOKING INSTEAD OF 120 DAYS of ADVANCE BOOKING.

Whatever railway research say that when 120 days was there for advance booking people didn't cancel the ticket and other people didn't get the chance to travel. First Railways get advance payment for 120 days. People can plan in advance. Now one has to wait and when you dont get the confirm ticket and then go to the tout or be under TENSION and lastly go to tout and PAY MORE. 60 Days will only BENEFIT RAILWAY STAFF AND THEIR TOUTS. This is our thinking more

Indian Railways has taken a very long time to make a correct decision. Earlier, the 60-day advance booking was unwisely increased to 120 days(4 months), which only opened the door for the touts. Within a few days of opening the reservation for most of the trains, it was difficult to get a confirmed ticket, particularly in higher classes. It was difficult for the majority of travelers to draw a traveling plan 4 months in advance and secure their tickets. Now it will be convenient to secure confirmed tickets for all. more
60 DAYS, this is correct CONVINIENT for all more
Yes, this is the mutual master plan between Railways Staff and Touts to change the 120 days to 90 days. more
Sorry to say that we havebecome habitual to think negative for every change or reform.previously 120 days was a long time, how any one could plan so early. more
This is good and bad. In Indian family, weather ,political climate and even unpredictable rly actions 120 days is an uncertain period. So some find out a few days after booking that they will not be able to travel on the date and pay large amount to cancel. So some delay to cancel till near the date to cancel. This can be reversed by a smaller cancellation charge for early cancellation say upto 30 days like clerkge charges levied during manual times.Rlys will not be a loser as they have the ticket money so long without rendering any service. Advance reservation earlier than 60 days may help rlys to foresee demand and provide extra coach or train on such dates. But punishing genuine passengers in the garb of punishing touts is unacceptable. There are many electronic and physical means to date t to detect and prevent toutbooking. Also rlys may limit bookings earlier than 60 days to 25 % of seats to spiritual ,students tour etc to make their plans to multiple places. more
