Spitting and tobacco use by Coolies
I want to highlight a basic problem that railways can fix rather easily. Go to New Delhi, Nizamuddin, Agra, Indore or any station, esp in north india. Many coolies consume tobacco and shamelessly spit on the platform, not in a dustbin, on the platform.
This is unhygeinic and dirties the whole place. Can a strong action be taken where every station master is asked to address coolies monthly and a rule is passed that any coolie observed doing this will be permanently debarred from the station as a coolie.

Such steps would straight away be considered elitist and high handed. And be torpedoes down in no time. It is like handing over ready ammunition for the opposition. So practically IMHO such step will not even be considered leave alone work. It is like prescribing that one should straight away dismiss all government/ PSU employees who are corrupt/ do not give output. more

Spitting by the Railway employees , coolies, policemen , is very common all throughout the India. It can be stopped in a day. more
