Standardisation of hospital billing

https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/world-health-day-survey

This is a very very fair ask. Even in many big hospitals charges are clubbed as pathology charges with no details.

Hospitals dont want to disclose that they do same test for 5-8X the price charged by an independent lab and hence just want to charge lump sum where possible.

Hope the govt takes this up and standardises hospital billing more

I agree. Please see video attached. Politicians make money while approving rates for treatment, diagnostic tests and recommending generic medicines. They delay and cut hospital bills while passing. Regulatory authorities are packed with political appointees who are boot-lickers! Unless people of integrity are in all places in a democracy, public will be exploited. Democracy is basically individual selfishness and Adam Smith's 'invisible hand' both guide governments humanity to apocalypse. They do not encourage morality, ethics or social responsibility. more

We should ask for the breakup before settling the bill and question high charges. I did so during discharge for covid and the bill amount was reduced by almost 19%. more
Hospitals are the biggest organised looters now . And it's risk free . Patients are in no mood to react . The only solution is for common cause organisations to take up the case and take the hospitals to task on behalf of the patients if not in real time , a little later. For example even after the bill is paid we can always ask for the break up and the details. And shared in social forums like this . My full support for any such venture more
yes this is a prajith mentioned nexus between insurance and private hospitals.Hope irdai brings in some regulations saying the rates fixed by cghs private hospitals can charge say 10 or 20 oercent higher only more
It is a nexus between insurance and private hospitals.. fleecing off millions from naive patients.. Especially, cancer and heart related treatments. more
