Standards for bakeries needed - natural colours
The Government should on priority mandate what bakers in kerala have done. 1500 bakers of Kerala have come together and decided that they will only use natural colours as the synthetic colors are carcinogenic or cancer causing.

Not only bakers but the hoteliers are also using synthetic colours freely to make their menu attractive. Use of synthetic colours in hotels and restaurants need also be made a punishable offence by enacting suitable laws by the Central as well as the State Governments. more

this is a serious matter and harmful to health. FSSAI must frame regulatory laws to have a regular inspection of Bakery factories and collect samples for an independent quality evaluation. Using harmful inputs in food products is a big crime and policy makers should frame law to punish the guilty one. Govt. should also make a ban list of artificial colours not to use by the Bakers. more

rather than expecting bakers to voluntarily adopt "no artificial colour" policy; why not the government ban artificial colours. more
