State of Indian Cricket

The IPL has corrupted our cricketers and their game. They are so clueless and so is the coach Rahul Dravid and BCCI leadership. All they do jow is play cricket for money and ads.

This really needs to change. Fire the coach and half of the oldies who cant last more than 50-60 balls. This team is a bunch of loosers. Unless a major restructuring is done, I am sorry but we don’t stand a chance in the coming ODI world cup.

Do share thoughts all the circle friends. more

As far as money is concerned, the BCCI is the main culprit in making our players greedy for money. Why should a cricket player should be paid an annual salary of 5-9 crores of rupees and in addition, few lacs of rupees for each match? Even the players empanelled by the BCCI for the national squad should be barred from all sorts of advertisements. Another unhealthy trend cropped up since last few years to allow continuation of players aged even more than 35 years of age depriving the deserving young players waiting in que for several years is a discouraging factor for them dooming the future of our cricket. more
With so many fans & ex-cricketers frustrated about India's defeat, I liked one down to earth comment by veteran Sunny Gavaskar, 'They couldn't last a full session on the last day!' If India is so passionate about victory in ICC Finals, Virat & Rahane (& earlier Pujara) could have easily batted out the whole day (Coach Rahul Dravid & VVS Laxman have done so many times earlier). Our scoring rate was good. Even if Australian bowlers would have kept them tied down, with whatever Indian team's final score, if Indian batsmen could have frustrated Aussie bowlers (it happened just opposite) the whole day and drawn the WTC final, they could easily have at least shared the Trophy & honours with Australia! more
I feel, we should stop watching cricket for some time now. We are the culprit. We should give this sport only that much importance as any other sport. Are so many of us thrilled when our TT/Badminton/Wrestling/Boxing teams perform well in international circuit. Stop giving importance to cricket and things will fall in place. more
Rohit Sharma in press conference after WTC final "I think we lost on Day 1 when the lunch they gave was taste less. The samosa didn't have spice. There was no chutney. It was very difficult for us as a team to bounce back from that. We still tried though. Shardul did a good job by finding a nice biryani place. We were able to enjoy a few meals then. However, bowlers didn't get leg piece, so they didn't perform well. I think, overall we ate well. Our focus will now be on Asia cup. Since it will be home ground, we are expecting the food to be good." more
It is shame to talk about a lunch to blame for the poor game. There is no dedication to the game. more
too much hype is given to them and somehow all of them even though they do not perform want to be in the team by hook or crook since then they will get advt and money which is what they are after and playing cricket is only a platform.BCCI cannot stop them from accepting advts but they need to look at th players who are playing well together who can give a credible fight to the opposition and not succumb meakly.Money plays a lot and earlier people used to play for their passion but now it is for the advts money and not for cricket passion which is causing them headaches. more
