I think the above is an ideal solution. more
It would be best if the government initiates a dialogue at multiple levels. The problem is that the issue is being politicised. Once this happens there can be no solution acceptable to anybody. - 1. First and foremost, talk with the movement being launched by Anna hazare. He is a apolitical person. His concerns should be addressed before the movement becomes a mass movement and leads to stiffling the governments voice (just like the anti-corruption movt. that lead to Congress unpopularity). He should also be communicated the need for land reforms and the benefits that farmers will get. He may have some good suggestions and help the govt, come to a middle ground. 2. With the help of BJP leaders and ground level functionaries from the farming community, the govt. should reach out to ground level farmers (down to village level) and start explaining the governments stance. Can the feedback from the ground be channeled into a more acceptable land reform bill. Again it will help de-politicise the issue. 3. Engage farmer unions- by holding dialogue that will help both sides understand the situation and the need for land reforms more
In every state in India there is idle land, land acquired by investing black money. Acquire those lands for industrialization instead of evicting poor men and rendering them homeless, instead of acquiring poor farmers land and rendering them landless. more
We know the previous land acquissition policy stopped industrialisation completely... more
Whaat is the solution? How cann industrialisation be revived? more
