Submission on MRP compliance of eCommerce sites

We are pleased to share with you that a submission has been made to the Department of Consumer Affairs to take action on eCommerce sites ensuring that listed prices is not above MRP.

Below is the media report on the same:

The solutions proposed include uploading of the product package image displaying MRP on the eCommerce so the consumer is aware of the MRP and if there is any discrepancy.

We look forward to the Department of Consumer Affairs implementing the collective citizen recommendations.

If you have other solution inputs on this, kindly do share.

We look forward to your inputs! more

Sites such as Amazon.in / Ebay.in offer products whose prices range from local prices to prices that are outrageously high. Or say for example a 'crumpet ring' for example - Mermaid Aluminium Crumpet Rings by Mermaid 7,129rupees. These are simple 4.5 inch aluminium rings to cook crumpets???? These prices are ridiculously high even for imported goods. more
The E commerce sites are deliberately misleading the customers by not mentioning the MRP. This has to be made mandatory. more
