Tamil Nadu becomes desperate to vaccinate

Tamil Nadu government has tried the last step. Mandating vaccines to walk on street or any public place . Last resort. Let us see if we now see many taking the Govt to court or does it help boost vaccination. Hope it doesnt lead to liabilities in the future for the state.

Has any other state done this? Isnt it clear violation of MOHFW protocols and high court affidavit that says Covid vaccine isn’t mandatory. more

I agree Mr. Narayanan. But it is unfortunate that in a democratic set up, public misuse the same with unwarranted views and actions which are not good. Actually, it is very destructive. Hence I commented this way. In a nutshell, we must respect democracy. more
I should first thank Ms Kumar about this note. I was not aware of this till now. Having said that, let me once more request people who talk about individual freedom to be more responsible about their utterings. Freedom comes with responsibility. I read that notification by the Director of Public Health with a heavy sense of irony. One cannot forget the motivated propaganda against vaccination before the elections just to denigrate one person. Many people who believed this propaganda suffered because of not taking the vaccine. At least now people should realise the value of vaccination if not of masking or social distancing, which are abysmally low right now in Tamil Nadu (perhaps like in many other regions of India). As I have detailed in my response to Ms Eliana Jacob, let us, in LC try to sensitise our social environment about vaccination against covid, masking and social distancing. In fact, having spent my life time in tuberculosis diagnosis and prevention, I feel masking might help cut the transmission of TB germs also. Since, many people have become used to mask while in public space, this can be of additional benefit. Jai Hind. more
If people haven't still understood the benefit obtained by taking the vaccination against the Covid virus; I think, we have to allow them to get Covid and suffer. Government should announce that it will no longer foot the hospital bills for such non-takers. more
I agree that the obstinate/adamant/stubborn people should be let go. Unfortunately, they can spread the virus to the detriment of the society. more
I don't understand why local circles Reeta Kumar permitted to post this. In the name of democracy, citizens can do any damn actions and we should be silent spectators. India is fighting Covid with all possible protocols. Such posts will increase the hesitancy level for vaccination. Already majority of citizens do not follow protocols in public. Vaccination is only alternative to this menace. Tamil Nadu is doing good job. Maharashtra to follow suit. 70% of the American citizens who took the 1st does have not come forward for the 2nd dose and cases have risen. Same is the case at Europe and we know this. But inspite of this Reena posted this. I feel sorry. Let's do something constructive without wasting our valuable time and energy. more
I agree with everything you commented, Sri. VAITHEESWARAN SANKARANARAYANAN, except for the "why local circles Reeta Kumar permitted to post this". A Democracy, in any form, will, and MUST, allow that Freedom of Expression. We all should tolerate that, and offer our comments. more
Very well said. more
In India, we have too much of freedom and people take undue advantage. more
