in spite making all stringent measures...how Tatkal tickets are out of reach of common man.... i had such incident to share with you... i wanted to book my train ticket from bangalore to vizag for 13 apr 2015.T.no.15901, while opening of this train in tatkal (Online) it was 64 seats available in tatkal before 10 am, and 10:00:54, it was showing CKWL20.... can anyone explain this... within fraction of 54 seconds how can 84 tickets be sold.. if this is the way why should we buy tickets. in advance or why tatkal system should be done... if government have to make revenue, do one thing make all trains in Tatkal. and instead of buying ticket 120 days in advance let them buy 1 day in advance. more

There shouldn't be RAC/ WL for Tatkal booking. Live booking should be allowed through Online/ current reservation till train starts/ reaches in the reservation starting station TCs should have devices to check reservation than charts to verify booking Finally non-availability of sufficient seats is leading to these cancellations/ tatkal - first this should be curbed more

While making reservation in Tatkal there should be option while making payment " Reserve my seat if it is confirmed seats only". We all experienced that when we initiate payment it shows availability of seats ( 20 to 30) & when we complete the process we get tickets in WL that to more than 10 to 20 & so we blocks our payment , we cannot find alternatives ,we cannot cancel it & if we find alternative go by other means at our surprise it confirms & our amount got wasted as we have travelled by other means. And if we wait till char preparation it does not confirm & our all plan disturbs. So railway should find solution for it. No WL should be there in tatkal . more

Due to several reasons beyond our control if we cancel our ticket even much before the departure of the train,even in the wait listed category the cancellation charges are very high!!!!! veeramani. more

That is income for railway. Nobody bother u hv got waiting. If u cancel the charges will be deducted. That isthe profit. The software should not allow waiting list above 10 nos. But this is purposly kept open sothat passengers lose their money. more
