Technology & Unique I.D. - Solution to multiple needs

Please read carefully and do give your inputs:-

A child is born and he gets a unique citizen i.d. which serves as single point for all information and societal needs for ever thereafter. Imagine how much transparency and ease this can bring. He attains the age of 5 and automatically his name is reflected in Distt. School Authority records that he should be enrolled for education. The school he joins updates the record and automatically this is updated in Administration records. He attains the age of 18 and is enrolled for Voting in the records . No hiccups, just in the next elections he needs to go & vote. His i.d. gets eligibility for him and saves time & money for Election Commission.

At 18 he is eligible for Driving License, let him get trained and pass the test which is online and he shows his driving skills on a turf which is monitored and controlled by minimum Human Interference. And wow he gets his DL without Touts or Bribe.

His name is included in Ration Card and becomes eligible for all other facility as per his social status and defined by the government.

Need a passport and voila he just needs to apply for the same online. The passport gets home delivered without the need to run around.

Today we are the country which manages billions of data for people across the world but still we have not made even a bare minimum utilization of the technology for upgrading the living standard for our own people.

I hereby invite comments and suggestions from all so that it can be shared with the government for making it practical. more

Today I learn from the News Paper TOI that the government is planning to merge the AADHAR & NPR. This is good as it will lead to one unique ID. The next step should be to link all government services with this ID thereby plugging pilferages, reducing government work load of & at the best saving loads of paper lying in government offices. more
Fake aadhar cards were possible in India ? more
unique id should be implemented urgently. with a microchip and can be used in various departments. Just like the emirates id in U.A.E more
Yes Mr. Sumit, the concept of unique id is must for the people of country, it reduces lots of administrative and legal offences. Only thing is there must be transparent and secured mechanism for developing unique id. Yes it can be made compulsory for the new born baby along with the birth certificate unique id will also be generated which will be updated regularly. Which the help of electronic equipment this is possible, we require to plan it till the micro level. more
We can collectively suggest to the government on the pros and cons of this. Your inputs shall be summarized and forwarded. more
