In Chhattisgarh, an officer's I-phone fell into a dam reservoir. Two pumps of 30 horsepower, ran 24 hrs, and pumped out-hold your breath- 21 lakh litres of water, this water could have irrigated 1,500 acres of land, & this is when "there is severe shortage of water in the area.

No suspension but dismissal after conducting enquiry within 15 days. Suspension has become a lucrative business in govt institutions and for courts also. more
Not only dismissal but with the recovery of the costs (1) associated with pumping out the water, (2)associated with storage of water, (3) associated with the upkeep of the reservoir, (4)associated with loss of all purposes for which the water was stored, and also (5) associated with the cost of the inquiry. more
NOT ONLY DISMISSAL BUT HE SHOULD ALSO BE ARRESTED AND PROSECUTED FOR VARIOUS OFFENSES UNDER IPC. THIS IS A CRIMINAL ACT. MOST OF THE BUREAUCRATS FEEL DIGNIFIED IN THE ABUSING THEIR POWER. more
No bureaucrat would dare to misuse his/her position or power without enjoying the protection and consent(directly or implied) of his/her senior, who in turn must be enjoying the patronage of his/her political master. more
Supreme Court Of India has No time to see all these things. But they can hear LGBT Case Interestingly. Another there is No Strict Laws for Govt. Officers. Only suspension for few days & then Rejoined with Promotion. This things they get josh & do all these things. He is a junior official but still he bought costly iphone and dared to waste large qnty of precious water. Surely he is minting money as food inspector. more
Now he has emptied the reservoir... government should do the desilting of the dam reservoir to the possible extent so that during rains more water can be stored which will save money for the government for future desilting work.. more
Law should be simple. How?. Let me explain, as a govt. employee if any one is found to misuse the resources then he has to reimburse the same. Once he reimburses the same from other source, he/she can join the job again. Say, one is found to have taken bribe of 10 Lakh to get someone a contract to repair a road that costs 5 crore then he/she has to reimburse 5 crore by selling his/her property or by working or by doing any other business to get back his Job and property. And this clause must be made mandatory at the time of taking the Govt Job. Also his/her children can study only in Govt. Schools, can take treatment only in Govt. Hospitals. If found else were he/she has to leave the job. In this case the Officer will only get his job & property back once he fetches water from near by running river and fills the Reservoir either by bucket by bucket or by carrying water tank with his own cost working else where to earn for this expenses.
