Tout Issues - Follow on Inputs Sought
Earlier this year, it was this circle which reported an incident leading us to unearth the scam that allowed touts to book 4000 seats a day in advance and then change them to a train/booking of their choice. The gap was plugged in March.
Once again, we seek your inputs on any and every kind of tout menace that you have observed in the last 4-5 months.

The facility for current reservation through internet and in all reservation counters upto 30 mts prior to dep recently introduced will definetly reduce to maximum extent the corruption of ttes and touts. Reducing the quota for tatkal in SL class which is normally around 200 to 250 will be helpful in reducing touts blocking the tickets. Already efforts have been taken by railways by insisting ID card for all class for all type of reservations. more

Good suggestions by Shri Davidly Moses. All train reservations should be studied carefully. Plan running more trains on the route maximum waitlisted tickets are booked. If tickets are available readily, who wants headache of touts. more

The ticket booking agents are to be compelled to use equipment supplied by Railways only. They should be checked by inspectors periodically and erratic and fraudulent agents are to be heavily fined and all their ticket income has to be confiscated and they are to be blackmarked by publishing their photos in news papers. In deserving cases, they should be iput under rigorous imprisonment. more
