TRAI NOTIFICATION/CHEATING

CHEATING BY TRAI
TRAI has been announcing that PAY ONLY FOR WHAT YOU WATCH. But under this cover Public is being FOOLED and TV Companies are being benefited. I explain my case. I am having a connection with AIR TEL with Rs.219/- including taxes as monthly pack and enjoying almost all the Hindi channels. But if these are priced with the new POLICY of ‘PAY WHAT YOU WATCH’ the cost of all the channels comes to app.1000/- as told by AIR TEL. Now I have selected only three packs of, ZEE, COLOUR, & SONY, the Min cost is coming to Rs.108/- and Rs.153/- is added as compulsory charges, making total of Rs.261/- + taxes.
So I will be watching only 20% of present & paying more. SO THIS SLOGAN OF PAY FOR WHAT YOU WATCH IS PUTTING MIRCHI IN PUBLIC EYES. more

It is true that DTH provider are not allowing to user to change 75 channels (25 channels are mandatory as per TRIA) out of 100 as base pack mandatory , If they allow us to modify base pack then only the new cost will reduce. In this case we can delete unnecessary channels and add as per out choice in 100 packs + add on if we require more. more
TRAI is helping DTH companies. more
I am facing the same problem. Either the govt. should withdraw this system or the pricing as well as the GST should be reduced. No individual channel should be more then Rs. 5/- and the GST should also be reduced to 5%. Then only the final cost will remain almost the same as the present cost. more
I think the DTH Operators are taking the customers for a ride post Trai. Now you need to opt for a Base Pack and then Add ons to suit to your requirements. Any Base Pack has many channels not required for all customers and thus would have to be paid. With addons you may come up to be paying as much or more than the cost of channels you are interested in, in contradiction to the "Pay As You Watch" principle. more
Very true this is big game from TRAI to cheat customers and benefit all operators, and hope we can make serious representation on this soon to the TRAI authorities to scrap this, or reduce the charges of service providers seriously... very urgent and affecting all of us by increase in costs more
