Transparency in Railway Reservations

I had booked an AC 2Tier ticket vide PNR no.8561393053 for the journey of 12809 of 6th Nov,2018. The booking was made by me on 14th July,2018, The booking status was RAC/7. The current status of the ticket remained unaltered at RAC/7 even on 6th November at the time of preparation of chart and final status of the ticket was also in RAC. It is impossible to believe that there was no cancellation from 14th july,2018 till 6th November,2018 for the said class in the said train. What really appears that some tempering was done with the system and only selected tickets were confirmed from RAC or waitlisted.
As such there is no transparency in the Railway Reservation System even after computerization. Since Railway Reservation system should be liable only towards fare paying consumers for its general quota, the real picture will be clear if a full enquiry is done on tickets cancelled and tickets confirmed against these cancellation. more

I also believe there is some problem with rhe way waitlisted pax are handled. I booked HWH to PPI on 14 Sept on 2 AC. It was wait lisred PQWL 4, 5, 6. Even on 16 Nov the position has not canged. Yet if I book try to book the same train same class on 16 Nov. it shows WL 3. If the WL on 16 is 3 on Nov 16, how come tickets booked on 14 Sept is WL 4,5,6? more
I have no comment on this issue. On Wed, Nov 7, 2018 at 10:55 AM Anurag Kulshreshtha < support@localcirclesmail.com> wrote: > more
Many a times wait listed tickets in premier trains and on busy route do not get confirmed even if the waiting No. is WL/1 or RAC/1, as I myself experienced this situation in the past but I didn't have any doubt of any kind of foul play. However, certain such tickets are get confirmed under VIP quota superseding other wait listed tickets and this system is in vogue as per rules provided for in railways since long. Presence of corruptions and favouritism all around has made us suspicious inculcating the habit of finding foul play in everything. more
Number of seats is always pre decided in VIP quota, I am talking about general quota only. more
Mr Anurag could not get his RAC in to confirmed seat,it is quite possible many a times in some route no cancellation take place, I have experience for RAC 1 did not confirmed and I went in deep root and found that there was no cancellation on that route, so this could happen more
I checked the PNR it remains RAC, since the route on which Mr, Anurag is travelling is one of the busy rail route and there might be no vacancy that is why the RAC status did not get converted into confirmed seat, but anyway railway needs to ensure more transparency in reservation systems and seats availability. more
