Travel by Government Officers
Some of you have written to us about the various domestic and foreign official trips undertaken by Central, State, Local Government officers and many of them resulting in no results but just being a burden on the tax paying citizens of the country.
Kindly share what solutions should be implemented so official trips of Govt officials generate results and unnecessary trips are minimized.

Basically the approval for any visit should be after proper evaluation of need & after the visit again it's benefits should be evaluated. Then, the visit & pre, as well as post visit evaluation should be put on the website of concerned department for public viewing and comments. This will not only reduce misuse of travel, but will also remove misconception about it from the minds of the public, by becoming transparent. more

All trips that are done officially are to be recorded online under Central Govt site with day to day agenda, expenses and follow up actions so that everyone can go and check. I think thats max we can do to bring in transparency in this matter. This way personal will drive to do some thing meaningful and feel accountable. more

If person is shown publically on his site.. all expenses and purpose . . Those amount can be reimbursed more

there should be crystal clear key result areas & resource to achieve ,if necessary approve trips, but concern to b tangible result & its achievement in desired time frame only. more
