UNAUTHORISED MARKETS AND ROADSIDE VENDORS IN GHAZIABAD.

One of the worst problem in Ghaziabad is unauthorised Markets, and occupation of all empty spaces by unauthorised vendors, stalls/kiosks and Rickshaws. In Ghaziabad you can't drive or move comfortably as each and every empty spot/corner has been captured & unauthorisedly occupied by the vendors, even the entrances of the GDA built markets, and all the roadside parking space in these markets has been taken by the vendors and they are free to put their Kiosk at any empty space. No one is there to check this menace as all of them have some protector who charge the rent to protect all these unauthorised vendors. The same story is of each and every colony. All of these vendors are paying Rs.20 to Rs.100/daily to some contractor, so you can imagine the money collected in total as if you count these vendors there may be over 25000 such vendors and kiosks & Theli rickshaws in Ghaziabad. You can imagine the gross profit from this business. These vendors are the major cause of all the traffic Jams and Parking problems in the city. In all markets many of these vendors are criminal and also pose security threat to residents. There was a case when it was found some juice vendors were selling unauthorised liquors along with Juice. The Local administration and Police are keeping closed eyes on this problem because may be this is a cash Cow. Otherwise how can people put up kiosks everywhere on each corner of city even at the entrances of many police posts and no one object, no Nagar Nigam. GDA or Police official bothered. It is surprising or not? Is someone there who can take this issue. more

Of Course until we all try seriously nothing can improve. But actions on this is quite difficult due to vested interests of local politicians that's why even orders of Allahabad High Court lies pending and no one has ever bothered to implement them. more
MP will not be able to take up of his own unless there is a mass movement demanding action. more
