Use of aadhar number

I really cannot understand the use of aadhar number. I feel it is a wasteful project leading to waste of human energy and resources. I have myself wasted much time and money on my moving around for linking so called aadhar number to post office accounts, banks, phone companies etc. I am a senior citizen (83 y) and my bio-metrics vary every day. Mobile operators are not accepting my aadhar number. The UIDAI must issue a notification that linking aadhar number is not required for senior citizens. The present government must issue an AADHAR metallic badge to all Indians which can be hanged by the neck of every person including babies!

This gives some access to your bank account and many looting take place. Excellent job done by the Govt. to the tax paying public. more
i am a senior citizen of 65 years. I empathize with the senior citizen who has made the comment in these columns. as our memory fails and our mobility reduces on account of old age, all these new rules are restricting me and adds to my tension. I have also lived in countries where such identification cards exist. there the procedures are simple. they are not linked to your bank account and mobile number. just to identify that you are a resident or citizen of that country. what this government has done is only to complicate the issue. more
Aadhar Number is almost at par with social security number in USA which is a must. Similarly Aadhar is very much useful and a must for all Indian citizens which much be linked across all transactions. Aadhar number must replace PAN, voters identity etc over the passage of time. Of course, security of Aadhar number must be strenghtened so that it is not tampered or misused. I don't understand our highest apex court is wasting time and energy in entertaining numerous PILs. Regret to note the case is dragged for years and no concrete decision has come out from the apex court. In fact, at first itself, PILs should have been dismissed. I have no clue about the privacy invaded as apprehended. It has been proved that Aadhar has saved crores of rupees to the exchequer. Hence Aadhar should be implemented in toto at the earliest. Apex court must clear Aadhar case on toppest priority. more
This arrests, eradicates and curbs all sorts of Financial Frauds, Misuse and Misappropriation of Public, Govt. Funds , income and Finances .
Those entirely selfish and habituated to Corrupt Practices in all ways and means for creating Black Money and increase of Concealed Wealth , especially those in Business, Trade and Profession are venturing against not only Aadhar and its Linkage , but also campaigning against Cashless Transactions .
S.C. at National Interest , has to support these 2 issues of Fiscal Safety and Security to public and the Country . more
I feel very happy with the above three comments. The system was initially designed by me in 2004 and i had suggested this idea in yahoo answers and sent many mails to govt offiicers and planning commission of India..when i was explaining the benefits, till 2014 peoples were laughing at me and said that it is not possible in India. Now those guys are looking at me with some feelings. more
Aadhaar has ensured that all earnings by individual is traced to the person and therefore the tax is paid correctly. I never had track how much interest I was gaining in different accounts, the capital gains in MF, etc. Now, it is traced and my auditor tells me how much I should pay tax. more
