Vaccination not Mandatory: Govt to Supreme Court

Days before India completed a year of its Covid-19 inoculation programme, the government told the Supreme Court that it has not issued any guideline that envisages vaccination without consent, or makes a vaccination certificate mandatory for any purpose.
In an affidavit filed on January 13, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that “no person can be forced to be vaccinated against their wishes”.

Attached is the affidavit for anyone who needs to refer to it more

What is the point of this affidavit when various states are imposing rules making double vaccination compulsory for accessing public places/services? Since the protection offered by a vaccine wanes after 4-5 months, even those vaccinated say 6 months ago are as "vulnerable" as the unvaccinated.......so why bar the unvaccinated from public access? more
Where is this belief that unvaccinated people are spreading the virus coming from? more
Nowhere in the world covid vaccine has not been made mandatory. I am of the view unnecessarily, few citizens have file this petition wasting time and energy of the court and courts also should not allow these type of litigations. May be in certain pockets of the country, indirectly vaccination is forced as the states want to win over the battle as the economy has to thrive on. Please go through the twitter message of doctor as given here. We must understand that besides vaccines, following protocols is a must to win the battle against this pandemic. This is exhibited in twitter message by the well renowned doctor Faheem Younus from USA in which he says that after being in the midst of covid patients for little less than 2 years and vaccinated himself fully with booster, he contracted Omicron recently but without much impact as he freaked out in a family function without mask and social distancing etc. So it is imperative to have vaccine which does not absolves one from contraction of the virus should covid norms are not followed. So following covid appropriate behavious is must for ever and it should be our way of life henceforth. more
what if an un-vaccinated person spreads the virus upon becoming positive for covid or its variants. who will be responsible???? more
