Vector/Seasonal Disease Management - Solutions

Below are the key issues outlined by you in regards to Vector/Seasonal Disease Management in India. Kindly review them and help identify what solutions should be implemented at local levels and by who so next year the impact of seasonal/vector borne diseases is minimized. We look forward to your inputs.

Seasonal Disease Management – Issues
1.Fogging is only when an epidemic breaks out and that too only in few places
2.Fogging is done blindly without taking measures to identify the place of breeding or to eliminate breeding
3.There is no way for the citizens to request a second round of defogging
4. Municipality fogging trucks and automatic sewer machines have not been seen in action this year
5.Government hospitals do not handle cases of dengue well
6.Patients are asked to buy the medicines themselves from outside
7.Availability of doctors to manage cases of dengue and chikangunia becomes an issue
8.Patients with high fever are made to wait for hours in Government hospitals before a doctor comes to see them
9.Blood tests for Dengue are quite expensive
10.Open drains are not cleaned and have become breeding ground for the vectors
11.Vacant as well as construction sites are major grounds for mosquito breeding and not much is being done by the municipality to get rid of them. more

mosquito breed in stagnant water . mosquito finish if stagnation is removed or diesel is sprinkled on stagnated water or if the ditch with stagnant water is filled or the ditch is covered so that mosquitoes don't enter the ditch but mosquito persist because fogging is done blindly with out taking measures to identify the place of breeding or to eliminate breeding. There is a great deficiency in system. All major sites of mosquito breeding should be listed ,notified & supervised by senior personnel of department as it involves different departments & not the health department(dho/MHO).Mostly stagnation is to be removed or prevented by engineering department in ditches & in construction sites,in drains & should be supervised by senior most officer in engineering department but since it is not a lucrative work ,engineers donot give it much attention. If in an area there are numerous mosquitoes ,no construction work should be allowed to be sanctioned till mosquito problem is solved. No payments to contractors for construction work should be released till breeding of mosquitoes is stopped in that area. Sanction & payment of construction projects should be linked to elimination of mosquitoes in that area as stagantion is basically an engineering problem & leads to the most important /dangerous health problem. more
It is helpful to the passengers especially interview candidates and new people to the city and senior citizens .Thanks to Railways for having implemented G.K.Naidu more
Kalaga Sir, Human Tendency also works on Newton's Law of Motion based on Force of Attraction and Force of Repulsion. Force of Attraction make Force of Repulsion Weak and at the same time Force of repulsion make Force of Attraction weak. So For Cleaning process we also have to find out which force of ACTION is working in it. Like:Money,Behavior,Relation,Temperament,Rejection or adoption,Changes,Crime these all factors affects our Social Discipline & look also. more
fogging and clean area is the only solution but it never happens in India more
1) Fogging- Only when epidemic breaks out. That too only in few places. 2)Municipal Actions-Only when there is any expectations. 3)Hospital Infrastructures-Very poor and pathetic. 4)Medicines-Will be asked to buy from outside. 5)Doctors availability-Very very rare occasions. Only in Cities and big towns you can see them. 6)Proactive Management-People do not know what is proactive management. more
