Waterlogging a national loss

I received the localcircles survey carried by Times of India Mumbai on the issues of water logging on whatsapp. Then googled the full report and found this:
https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/waterlogging-impact-survey

This is very good. Can the LC Manager also quantify this. For instance if 60% people lose 200 working hours due to water logging each year how much does that amount to then with car wear tears.

We must form city level groups led by eminent industrialists (along with financial support)to take these issues with the government though if any change has to be brought about.

We have become OVER SIZED then what we can Handle. more
Lets not restrict water logging related loss of man hours to Mumbai alone. Even in Chennai I am forced to take leave or skip work for couple of days during Monsoon more
Waterlogging in urban areas including Metro cities has become a common feature since last couple of years. Besides the poor drainage & sewerage disposal system, other important reasons are there. Depth of water body had come down visibly that made the water disposal to such body became difficult. Over the years, River bed and bay of the sea were not cleaned up effectively to improve the depth to hold water sufficiently. This is a common feature in every city in the country. Water body are invisible in now a days in any city which were holding water during rainy season. Simply blaming the local administration for poor maintenance of drainage & sewerage system will not be suffice to address the issue well. It's high time to think deeply on such issue. more
The main reasons for water logging and flooding of city streets are carelessness and over dependent of citizens on the administrations and local bodies for every odds in their lives. The unsatisfactory and inadequate drainage system coupled with their becoming the main sources of garbage disposal by the citizens makes all the difference once the drains are full of garbage and choked. Until we realise our duties as responsible citizens and ensure to keep the drains always garbage free for proper drainage of rain water, the problem is likely to exist. more
Everyone here has given marvellous solutions. We need to build our cities and towns following the rules of town planning sincerely and honestly with no room for dishonest 'jugaad'. The water which floods and leads to waste of man hours and man days should be harvested. Lack of planning and execution is our nemesis more
