Whatsapp and SMS unsolicited messages

Yesterdays paper had our survey quoted about how we are being bombarded with sms and whatsapp spam (attached)

Media is questioning the regulator like TRAI MEITY using our circle survey. Really good. Hopefully they wont be able to get away for too long

Recall the INR 1 or 2 per message sms earlier 14 years ago. Blackberry messenger and late whatsapp made sending messages and graphics, en masse and free! Smartphone only requirement for sending whatsapp messages! Control freaks like TRAI and MEITY to earn those pre-Whatsapp days revenues. Also regulatory authorities regain control over message services usage this way. more
The same thing with Voice communication in Mobile Phone. I had blocked about hundred numbers, but the spam-stars give ring from another number, they comprise of Superstars SBI Card, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance,... to name only a few. The same thing with one of eMail Boxes - which gets flooded with unwarranted eMails from superstars like State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance etc. Attempts to 'unscribe' is of no avail - either they would be 'investigating', or they are asking for userId/Password ( ICICI Bank), or the eMails received are designed with 'no-reply' facility. This shows why the 'swachchata mission' is a failure, since, even the society/ industry/commerce stalwarts are enriched with inherited culture of dumping garbage of their households in the premises of their neighbours' or in public places like streets, parks, etc. more
It's the users that drive this, use your cell phones wisely.. No Demand, No Supply. more
This problem arises from the fact that Mobile phone operation has been made too cheap in India. For 84 days one pays only about Rs. 700/- for over a 100 messages per day and ALL calls are FREE. This certainly prompts people to use this facility for useless messages. Even a small cost of say Rs. 0.50 per msg would control this problem to a large extent. and calls upto a limit per day, only should become free, all other calls should be charged at Rs. 2 per call of 5 minutes. more
Super work. Sms is being ignored because its mostly garbage. Other than OTP sms is useless more
